| I have a theory that when a man has to work too much, there's a good
chance that both he and the women in his life could have periods of
emotional instability.
Harley agrees.
Come soon, vacation. Come soon.

| Yippee for Brian, who just had a birthday! Looking around at all the people at his party, and knowing there was no way that everyone was there...wow Brian! You have so many people who think you're amazing and whose lives would be different if you weren't here. I am so glad you're a part of our community! |

| Wow, it's been a while.
So I had this interesting conversation with a girl about a week ago. She's a little bit older than most of us, probably 27-ish. She was a visitor and we were talking about the vision & values of the college ministry & how they played out...we had a discussion about community & it seemed she'd had a not-so-good experience in another church that stressed "community" as a value. Rather than seeing it as a safe place to be cared about & care about others, she felt more pressured & overwhelmed by the idea of community. As though, if she wasn't deeply immersed in it, she wasn't spiritually up to par. And, sometimes feeling like it was kind of cult-ish.
Thoughts on this? I'd be very interested to hear. |
